Course Aims

Inform and involve participants in how to work together in a multi-agency approach to safeguard, protect and promote the welfare of children and promote the awareness of Working Together guidance (2013) – Focused on level 4 of the Blackburn with Darwen Continuum of Need and Response.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session participants will:

  • Have explored the principles of effective multi-agency

  • Understand the concept of ‘significant harm’ – a child in need and a child in need of protection.

  • Have explored their role in multi-agency assessments and how to contribute;

  • Be aware of child protection legislation and local referral procedures;

  • Be aware of Local Safeguarding Children’s Board Policy and Procedures, including local ‘tools’ for effective ‘Working Together’ and multi-agency working.

Non-Attendance / Cancellations: Cancellations are acceptable providing the place is cancelled using the booking portal 48 hours prior to the event. Each cancellation will be acknowledged with a unique cancellation reference number. When a person does not cancel the booking 48 hours prior to the event, or does not send a delegate in their place, there will be a £75.00 charge applied to the organisation/individual.
