Sunset Yin Yoga Class

Yin Yoga consists of a series of long-held, passive, floor-based postures that target the connective issues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine.

In contrast to ‘yang’ styles of yoga, which typically relate to movement and creating heat, Yin is about finding stillness and cooling the body. We will access the deeper ‘yin’ tissues of our ligaments, fascia and even our bones, through longer holds, which will increase our flexibility by creating space and strength in the joints. It is the perfect complement to more dynamic practices allowing us to maintain optimum health in our whole body-mind.

On an energetic level, the Yin practice allows the body to drop down into the parasympathetic nervous system and therefore becomes deeply healing and nourishing. We will end our practice with a relaxation to set us up for a perfect night's sleep.

Please bring a pillow and/or blanket.
