This course uses the life model as the starting point to explore and develop a wide range of sculptural forms, materials and processes. Although there will be a model, this is not a purely figurative course. The aim is to teach students to use the human form to express emotion, energy or character and question what the human form/body means to them. Students can make an installation, do a performance piece, make something figurative or more abstract, thinking about the context or environment in which the art is placed as well as the art object itself. Throughout the course the tutor supports each student individually to develop their own approach and particular area of interest.

Lynne Abrahamson works in a mixture of mediums but specialises in sculptural ceramics, textiles and mixed media. As well studying having studied at Central St Martins and The Art Academy Lynne also has a Masters in Clinical Psychology from University college, Dublin. Psychological themes are a major part of Lynne’s art practice.
