This course is designed for students who have either completed our ‘Drawing for Beginners’ course or already have some experience of drawing, and want to take their skills to the next level. Over the course, students will explore drawing from observation, memory and imagination, thereby developing a deeper understanding of drawing and greatly enhancing drawing skills. Each week we focus on a particular aspect of drawing. Starting with measurement and explore this in different contexts, so that students will gain confidence in drawing a wide variety of subjects including still life, life models, and urban landscape. Through trying different approaches and materials, students will begin to develop a ‘visual vocabulary’ of drawing. There will be opportunities to work both, inside and outside the studio, and in museums and galleries.
