NZLS Auckland Branch Seminar: Power Reading - Tips to improve your reading speed and comprehension

Wednesday, 29 Apr 2015 5:30pm - 7pm

  • This event is fully booked, but you can add yourself to the waiting list.

Due to popular demand this seminar is being repeated on 29 April 2015. How much time do you spend reading work-related material (including electronic information)? If all you did was to double your reading speed, how much time would that save? School taught you to read at a walking pace. Power reading takes you beyond walking - you can run through your reading material with ease, and improve your concentration. Power reading is not speed reading. It's a way to help you concentrate and a way to help you choose only the most useful material to read.

As a power reader, you will;

• Understand why you read the way you do

• Retrain your brain to unlearn slow reading habits

• Understand the basic structures of writing, so that you can find information quickly and easliy

• Make your reading an active skill to increase your involvement and understanding Your facilitator Nick Read established Training for Change in 1994, to offer training and facilitation services to corporate business in the area of human dynamics. Nick has a background in teaching, television production, sales and corporate communications.

Nick has worked in a wide range of organisations. He delivers a range of public courses including Power Reading at the University of Auckland Executive Education.
