Lets Talk Together

Tuesday, 9 Jan 2018 1:30pm - 3pm

  • 15 spaces available.

We know that you want to give your child the best possible start. So we wanted to let you know that there are simple things you can do at home with children under 5 years of age that will make a big difference to how they read and write later.

Research shows that: • Looking at books or reading with your child at home will help them do well at school • Teaching your child songs and rhymes will help them be a better reader as they get older • Having plenty of children’s books, either from the library or their own, will help your child learn when they start school

Children who were read to regularly by their parents at age 5 performed better in maths, vocabulary and spelling tests at age 16 than those who were not helped in this way.

Children who read for pleasure are likely to do significantly better at school than their peers Research from Institute of Education, Sep 2013

We are offering the Lets Talk together programme which will show you many more ways to help. We’d love you to join us!
